Jerónimo de Sousa warns of “clothing cuts and pensions”
Secretary General of the PCP was also explained, during the XI Regional Congress of the party, that the PCP is “against war” and “for peace”
The secretary general of the PCP, Jerónimo de Sousa, warned this Sunday of the possible “cuts in the income and pensions” of the Portuguese, due to the increase in inflation and the refusal of the government of the Republic to update salaries.
“Let everyone be aware that, for example, for a salary of 00 euros, if inflation stays at 5%, and maybe gallops, the cut will be 40 euros, through their royal retirement”, announcement by the national leader of the communists, at the closing session of the XI Regional Congress of the PCP, held in the city of Horta, in the Azores.
According to Jerónimo de Sousa, in addition to the loss of purchasing power of the Portuguese, there is also an ongoing “spiral of speculation” in areas, through various ways of the global financial crisis caused by the war between Russia and Ukraine.
“In the name of estimates of estimates, just as the economic price is a pretext for war, new arguments to justify exploitation, increasing the conditions of profit, increasing as losses and loss of groups to groups, costs of profits from the purchasing power of workers and the people”lamented the secretary general of the PCP.
The national leader of the communists also accused the prime minister, António Costa, of being responsible for the worsening of the crisis in Portugal, by not accepting, for example, the PCP’s proposal, to set the maximum of the commerce workers in Portugal.
“When the recipes prepared as proposed by the PCP knew and qualified the result: placing the profit on the profits of the oil companies”, stressed Jerónimo de Sousa, adding that, in this way, the fuel companies take advantage to “increase prices even further, safeguarding its scandalous profits”.
The PCP The PCP was also explained, during the XI Regional Congress of the party, that the pazP is “against the general war” and “for the secretary-general” of the PCP, criticizing those who, being also against the war, entered the defense, while at the same time, a reinforcement of military means, to end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
During the PCP/Azores Congress, which took place on Saturday and Sunday on the island of Faial, the 40 congressmen elected Marco Varela as the party’s regional coordinator.
