Istanbul hosted 1 million tourists in March – Last Minute Economy News
The Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism visited the city for the first 3 2 million 904 thousand 460 foreign tourists on the day.
Istanbul, which hosted 545 thousand 608 foreign tourists in March last year, came to 1 million 156 thousand 400 thousand with 112 tourists on the same day this year.
1 million 153 thousand 138 of the tourists visited the city by air, and 3 thousand 262 visited the city by sea. Compared to the previous year, the number of people who came to the city by air increased by 113 percent, while those arriving by sea increased by 12 percent.
1281 visitors from Atatürk Airport, 340 thousand 54 visitors from Sabiha Gökçen Airport and 811 thousand 803 visitors from Istanbul Airport in March. 1588 foreign visitors came from Tuzla Port, 160 from Karaköy Port, 1188 from Zeytinburnu Port, 208 from Ambarlı Port, 45 from Haydarpaşa Port, 23 from Marmara Port and 50 from Pendik Port.
70.40 percent of foreigners arriving by air refer to Istanbul Airport and 29.49 percent to Sabiha Gökçen Airport.
IRANIANS RANK FIRST AMONG THOSE VISITING THE CITY
Among those who came to Istanbul in March, Iran ranked first with 116 thousand 626 people.
Iranians, Germans, Iraq with 92 thousand 194, Russians with 90 thousand 394, the British with 42 thousand 355, the Israelis with 40 thousand 120, the French with 40 thousand 119, the Americans with 36 thousand 801, the inhabitants of 29 thousand 49, the Dutch with 28 thousand 28 and 27.
