View for the Wiesn? Visitors storm Auer Dult and Spring Festival
The longing for folk festivals in Munich is great. Visitors flock to the Auer Dult and the Spring Festival. Are these good prospects for Oktoberfest 2022? Hello asked around.
Finally folk festivals again – that’s what the people of Munich longed for, like they did at the Hi– Report survey at the Spring Festival and the Auer Dult. According to the responsible economic department, the city is very satisfied with the number of visitors at both festivals. Showmen and market people have also given positive feedback.
“Although there will be no fireworks this year, the big classic car meeting will only be a small corso and other supporting programs, we will reach the number of visitors from 2019 or if the weather cooperates a little more,” says Yvonne Heckl, the spokeswoman for the Munich showmen. “We look forward to peaceful, happy and good-humored guests.”
At the weekend, queues form in front of the rides and children’s shops. The showmen and hosts are very satisfied with the course of events and the income, all showmen’s businesses and the tents are very well attended, says Heckl. “After 2 years of Corona Pandemic and very little or no income, a blessing for everyone dies.”
Also good prospects for the Oktoberfest? “I believe that we will experience a mega Oktoberfest in 2022,” says economics officer Clemens Baumgärtner. Another indication of this: the demand for table reservations is high, report landlords.

Good turnover despite Corona
“I was also at the Dult in 2020 and 2021. Despite Corona, sales were good – whoever came in consumed. It’s going well this year, too, but the prices have risen noticeably. Unfortunately, I also had to serve because my butcher increased the price by 20 percent.“
Some normalcy is nice again
“We have masks with us just in case. But it’s nice to feel some normalcy again. We never go to the Oktoberfest. If we are drawn there, then only to Bayern.“
Folk festivals in Munich – Hallo asked around at the Spring Festival
Optimistic
“I’ve been working at the Spring Festival for almost ten years, and at the Wiesn I’m in the Ochsenbraterei. The response this year is very good. Compared to pre-Corona times, the mood is unchanged, if not better. The tents are full, even during the week. People are happy and motivated. It will be a good Wiesn!“
Concerns about Ukraine war
“When it was said that the Spring Festival would take place, I was overjoyed. The same goes for the visitors: people are starving and want to experience something. How the Wiesn will be this year and whether it has to be canceled after all is difficult to say. I have my concerns about the war, less about Corona.“
Great atmosphere, but wait and see
“The atmosphere at the spring festival is great, we make good income. A few older visitors wear masks, but otherwise you don’t notice Corona. An assessment of the Wiesn is difficult. Let’s see how the pandemic and the war develop. I hope it will be a good Wiesn.”
