San Marino: the blue country invaded by black feathers – gallery
The 93rd “Rimini-San Marino” Alpine Gathering opened yesterday on the Adriatic coast and the “black feathers” peacefully invaded the Republic of San Marino for a day full of events, solemn and exciting moments.
The first Gathering in history involving two Nations falls on the 150th anniversary of the birth of the Alpine Corps and the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Bolognese-Romagna section of the ANA, of which many San Marino citizens also took part and which has promoted of the territory.
The program of events, which opened yesterday, is dense and full of initiatives and also includes exhibitions, tournaments, inaugurations and many celebrations of the history of the Alpine troops.
This morning the Flag-raising Ceremony in Piazza della Libertà in San Marino in the presence of the San Marino authorities, the Secretaries of State Luca Beccari (Foreign Affairs), Teodoro Lonferini (Labor), Stefano Canti (Territory and environment) and Marco Gatti ( Finances), the police forces and the San Marino corps and the national representatives and sections of the National Alpine Association which was followed by a short ceremony at the Ara dei Volontari with the deposition of a crown.
At 9.30 at Palazzo Pubblico the Official Audience of the representatives of the Alpine Corps led by the Commander of the Alpine Troops Ignazio Gamba and by the President of the National Alpine Association Sebastiano Favero, by the excellent Captains Regent Paolo Rondelli and Oscar Mina.
In memory of the Audience, a long parade brought the Alpini up to Piazzale Kennedy where a monument to the volunteers and a plaque of the San Marino people working alongside the Alpini during the First World War was unveiled.
At 11 at the Kursaal Congress Center the meeting between the President of the National Alpini Association, the National Executive Council, the foreign Sections of the ANA, the IFMS “International Federation of Mountain Soldier” delegations and the representatives of some foreign military corps to whom they attended by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, for International Economic Cooperation and Telecommunications, Luca Beccari, the Commander of the Alpine Troops Gen. Ignazio Gamba, the President of the National Alpine Association, Sebastiano Favero, il Mayor of Rimini Jamil Sadegholvaad, the Councilor for the budget, personnel, assets, institutional reorganization, Paolo Calvani representing the Emilia Romagna Region, the ANA representative of the Emilia Romagna section, Vittorio Costa, the General Secretary of the Alpine Troops, Renato Genovese, the ANA Delegate contact person for foreign delegations Mr. Gian Mario Gervasoni and the IFMS National Representative, Mario Rumo.
Also present was the Ambassador of Italy in San Marino, HE Sergio Mercuri.
At 1 pm the exhibition “The Bell of the Fallen, the gathering of the Alpine troops in San Marino” was inaugurated at the Embassy of Italy.
To brighten the three days of the Alpine Gathering, the Tourist Office of the Republic of San Marino together with cultural associations and other San Marino organizations made the electric train of the blue and white train located in the Montale Gallery open to visitors and organized the parades and shows by the Federation. Balestrieri Sammarinese, Cerna dei Lunghi Archi, La Corte di Olnano and the Compagnia dell’Istrice and La Compagnia della Forca.
Tonight at 9 pm at the Basilica del Santo the Gathering in Music with the performance of the Alpine choirs Orobica Brigade Choir and Alpine Military School Choir.
