“It couldn’t be nicer for Donkor”
Munich – Tom Brady, the Tampa Buccaneers – and then the Seattle Seahawks: For German football fans, the schedule for the NFL game on November 13th in the Allianz Arena in Munich can hardly be better.
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll is also looking forward to his first trip to Germany. Though it’s hitting the team hard in 2022, as the Seahawks clock up a whopping 29,446 miles this coming season, the most of any team.
Pete Carroll: “The Experience of a Lifetime”
“I think it’s great,” Carroll said. “I’ve never been there and I’m looking forward to the trip, just like everyone else. It’s the experience of a lifetime for everyone here.”
It will be a special experience for German linebacker Aaron Donkor in particular, who has been part of the Seahawks since last season through the NFL’s International Pathway Program.
“As far as Aaron Donkor goes, it couldn’t be nicer,” Carroll said. “Obviously he’ll carry the flag out at the start of the game. At least he’ll be able to translate for us, so we’re looking forward to it and will try to make the best of it.”
Donkor thanks the fans in advance and for their support. “They have been very supportive,” he said. “I’ve felt the support of the Seahawks fans here and in Germany and I’m very happy about that.”
Donkor spent his first season in the NFL in the Seahawks’ practice squad.
