From the Ambassador of Ukraine Bodnar to the ‘Istanbul Process’
Vasyl Bodnar, Ukraine’s Ambassador to Ankara, said that May 8 is celebrated as the ‘Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation’ in Ukraine, and that the ‘Istanbul Process’ has also been sorted out. “The most fundamental for us is to achieve and end this war,” said Bodnar.
Ukraine’s Ambassador to Ankara Vasyl Bodnar, pay attention to the ‘May 8 Remembrance and Reconciliation Day’ celebrated in the country, “May 8 is one of the most important days of the day; Because he was on the battlefield in WWII and 8 million Ukrainians were lost at that time. Twenty percent of the Red Army, fighting against ex-Russian military fascism, were Ukrainian nannies, and these people saved Europe from the Nazis. This is also a memorial day for us and we pay tribute to them. Our contribution to this victory was really great and valuable. “We want peace more than anyone else,” he said.
Reminding that May 9 is celebrated as the ‘Victory Against Nazism’ in Ukraine, Bodnar said, “As an event, May 9 was actually a day to commemorate dreams in the war against Nazism. We think in that war and it’s not about thinking about those who are no longer alive, but in this war, we are animating wars; because this is a real day of remembrance for all of Ukraine. They are fighting against these people for their existence in the world and for their own freedom.”
