WKS honored Tennengau companies – news.wko.at
With the “Salzburg Success Stories”, the WKS created a new event format that puts the performance of companies celebrating a milestone in front of the curtain.
“We have you to thank for creating a top business location in Salzburg. There are over 40,000 companies that are active in Salzburg and ensure prosperity and employment and enable everything that makes a prosperous region possible,” emphasized WKS President Peter Buchmüller in his welcoming speech. This is not possible without diligence and without risk, without an incredible commitment that the jubilarians have given in all these years. “As a company, you have also suffered setbacks over the years that mark your anniversary, but you have always managed to move forward and develop your company further,” stressed Buchmüller. “I thank you and congratulate you from the bottom of my heart.”
I am very grateful to the Salzburg Chamber of Commerce for the “Salzburg Success Stories” initiative. Because without their entrepreneurial commitment, Salzburg would not be able to do it in this form. They are the ones who shape the country and fill it with life.
“As an entrepreneur, you bring something into society that I would like to call spirit,” affirmed Haslauer in his speech. “You bring a self-confident approach, a creative, entrepreneurial one, with which you have survived many ups and downs in your long history and form the basis for prosperity. Thank you for that,” said the governor.
Dazzling paths to success
As part of the panel discussion with Marina Herzmayer and district office chairman Andreas Schnaitmann, the honored entrepreneurs Wolfgang Moik and Georg Holzer had the opportunity to tell the story of their very personal path to success.
Georg Holzer started his own business at the age of 22. He has been active with his Holzer color center for 30 years. He owes his success story to his decision not to start the apprenticeship as an electrician, which his father had already fixed, but to switch to sales. “I was lucky that there was an apprenticeship vacancy at the Farben Reyer company at the time. That’s where the love and passion for colors was kindled,” says Holzer.
Entrepreneur, producer and director Wolfgang Moik, who has worked with big names from the Schlager industry throughout his company’s history, was also delighted to receive the 25th company anniversary award. After a three-year apprenticeship as a communications engineer, it happened that he met a TV producer on vacation who needed an assistant. From then on he stayed in the TV and music business. “The negative development in the music industry prompted me to tackle a new business field and produce image videos in the style of music videos,” says Moik. From this, his new product, the digital business card, developed, with which he is not only successful in Austria but also in Germany.
After the official part, the WKS invited to a personal exchange at the buffet. The Moser Trio from Seekirchen provides the festive and musical framework for the evening with classical music and tango rhythms, led in a charming way by the moderator Marina Herzmayer.
