The luminaries of national rheumatology are back to meet in Pisa
The works of the seventh edition of the national congress of rheumatology, Pontereuma 2022, will take place on 6 and 7 May in Pisa in the auditorium of the San Ranieri hotel. “This year – says Riccardo Cecchetti, head of internal medicine of Portoferraio and president of the Italian Society of Rheumatology (SIR) – the interventions will focus on telemedicine and rheumatic diseases, with a particular look towards the future. The two days in Pisa will see the presence of rheumatologists, cardiologists, pulmonologists and radiologists from prestigious universities such as Florence, Perugia, Pisa, Siena, Reggio Emilia, Modena, Milan and Rome. On the first day there will be two sessions and four readings, while on the second day there will be two sessions and three readings. The topics covered will range from the relationship between anticovid vaccines and rheumatological diseases, to the treatment of osteoporosis, also touching on the important topic of chronic pain in rheumatic diseases. Precision medicine and the centrality of the patient will also play an important role in the discussion which also includes a focus on cardiometabolic and pulmonary comfort, a large space will be dedicated to new drugs. The second day will focus on the importance of radiology in spondyloarthritis and psoriatic arthritis, not forgetting important pathologies such as pulmonary fibrosis and pulmonary hypertension screening.
