Sweden’s Cornelia Jakobs – Eurovision 2022 second rehearsal
The seventh day of rehearsals for Eurovision 2022 is coming to an end. But first we have our penultimate act of the day – Sweden’s Cornelia Jakobs with “Hold Me Closer”. How did it go for the Melodifestivalen winner? Let’s find out…
Sweden’s Cornelia Jakob’s “Hold Me Closer” – Eurovision 2022 second rehearsal
Padraig: Sweden has a long tradition of taking its Melodifestivalen winning staging almost shot by shot directly from Stockholm to the host city. And this time is no different. As the saying goes, if it’s not broken, do not fix it. Although Cornelia’s staging may be perfect, her rehearsal was plagued by a plethora of technical hiccups beyond the singer’s control. At first there was a problem with the microphone and later there was a camera confusion. In total, there were three failed shots and the delegation only had time for two full runs, unlike the usual three. Still, Cornelia fought on as a squad and delivered two worthy performances, even though she seemed a little tired of all the mishaps. “Hold Me Closer” still gives as much power as it did all the way back during the first heat of Melfest. And now it comes with added pyro.
