Portugal admits “very positive” evaluation of the Strategic Cooperation Program with Angola – Economy
The Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Portugal, Francisco André, recalled, in Luanda, until the end of 2022 and that it will be evaluated during this business year.
“I have no doubt that the evaluation will be very positive, in the case of education I would even venture to say that it will be a very, very positive evaluation, and that also makes us sure that the next Strategic Cooperation Program will have once again education as the central area of work between the two countries”, said the Portuguese official.
Speaking at the end of the signing ceremony of the protocol on the National Exams Angola 2022 pilot project, Francisco André stressed that the education sector is one of the “very intense” areas of cooperation between Portugal and Angola.
“The gains [da cooperação estratégica] are permanent, and the case of education and health are two good examples, but the case of education is a good example of a permanent gain”, he replied to Lusa.
The Portuguese Secretary of State began a visit to Angola today and has already met with the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Téte António, and with the Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Manuel Nunes Júnior.
According to Francisco André, the bilateral agenda and the international agenda guided the meeting with Téte António, when the Portuguese Angolan minister thanked him for his support for the holding, in Luanda, on Tuesday, of a preparatory conference for the 2nd United Nations Ocean Conference.
“This conference will be important and that will be concerned with a previous moment and very close to the institutions, the academy and all the protective devices will be important and that will be concerned with an ocean-day in the morning here in Luanda”, no.
“And they do it, because it is a country with which we have diplomatic ties and a country concerned with the oceans and that shares with us this way of working together of the United Nations within the scope of the United Oceans system”, he argued.
Lisbon will host, between June 27 and July 1, 2022, the II United Nations Ocean Conference that will be co-organized between Portugal and Kenya.
With the Angolan Minister of State, Manuel Nunes Júnior, the Portuguese Secretary of State said that he had the opportunity to “go over some of the topics on the economic cooperation agenda between the two countries”.
“Identify challenges and as joint ways for us to continue working and, above all, with a view to a future visit by the Minister of Economy and Sea of Portugal to Angola”, he concluded.
