Last year with HCB Südtirol Alperia in the final of the ICE Hockey League, Dennis Robertson will join the competition next season: Red Bull Salzburg has signed the defender.

The 30-year-old spent large parts of his career in the American Hockey League (AHL) before moving to HC Bozen in the summer of 2019. Rugged and technical, Robertson quickly became the Foxes’ top defenseman and was selected to the league’s all-star team post-season. This inevitably arouses the desire of other clubs. Although HCB boss Dieter Knoll really wanted to tie the Canadian to the club, Robertson switched to Dynamo Pardubice in the top Czech division last summer. His record there is 13 points in 44 games.
Now the left-handed shooter, like Red Bull Salzburg on Friday, is returning to the ICE. “I want to win titles,” Robertson is quoted as saying on the Bulls’ website: “Because in recent years I’ve often been close to it. I want to play in a team that is always fighting for the title.” Robertson is looking forward to being part of the team – “also because I know from many games against Salzburg the work ethic with which they tackle the tasks”.
The coach is excited
“We always try to build players with character and leadership qualities into the team,” says Salzburg coach Matt McIlvane: “Dennis brings both with him. During his time in ICE, he was one of the toughest defenders in the league. Now we are happy to have him on our team. With him we already have a strong defense that will be very difficult to play against.”
