Due to the correction of grain and the blockade of ports by Russians, the world is threatened by a food crisis – Ukraine at the UN
He said this during the UN Security Council, quotes Ukrinform.
Kislytsia reminded that the Russians had already stolen about 400,000 tons of grain from the occupied parts of Zaporizhia, Kherson, Donetsk and Luhansk regions, which is a third of all reserves in these regions. The Ukrainian representative replied that this grain was used for the next harvest, so such actions of the occupiers increase the threat of famine.
Kislytsia also notes that the Russians are attacking granaries, blocking the sowing country, blocking Ukrainian ports and bypassing sea routes.
“We call on the international community to strengthen economic sanctions against Russia in order to stop its war of aggression against Ukraine, prevent a humanitarian catastrophe and the global food crisis.”Said Kislytsia.
He stressed that, according to the United Nations, more than 1.7 billion people worldwide may be starving and starving due to food production problems caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Russia’s attack on food
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Russians have been repeatedly accused of blocking the supply of Ukrainian food abroad. For example, the United States said on March 30 that the Russians were blocking 94 food ships in the Black Sea.
The occupiers also export or destroy food from Ukraine. For example, occupation military planes bombed a modern elevator in the Rubezhnoye Luhansk region, which could store 30,000 tons of grain at a time.
And in the Russian Krasnoyarsk Territory, deputies even decided to replenish their own fund of agricultural products through illegal supplies to a limited part of the Kherson region. To do this, I want to forcibly confiscate grain from farmers.
