City of Salzburg – sidewalk new and continuous in the Rosa-Hofmann-Straße
Now the last section on Rosa-Hofmann-Straße to Siezenheimer Straße has also been made pedestrian-friendly. With the creation of a continuous sidewalk, safety was increased, especially for the youngest road users.
“Step by step we are closing the safety gaps in road traffic. Because all people in Salzburg – whether young or older – should be safe on the move in our city. This also requires a fairer distribution of street space, i.e. more space for pedestrians,” says City Councilor Martina Berthold.
For the implementation of the sidewalk, the street had to be moved in the direction of the garden center, the sidewalk was built along the houses. In order to enable barrier-free crossing of the street, a ramped crossing was created in the Matzenkopfgasse area. A new zebra crossing has been set up on Siezenheimer Strasse. The lighting was also adapted to the new buildings.
The total cost of the project was €200,000.
