Ukraine agrees to rescue people from Azovstal, but silence is needed
Ukraine continues to negotiate the rescue of people from Azovstal, but this requires a regime of silence. Ukraine is ready to receive it.

We agree and hope – we continue to save people from “Azovstal”, from Mariupol. There are still lives. Women, children. They can be saved, we need to continue the “silence”. The Ukrainian side is ready to provide it. It takes time to just raise people from “In the current conditions, we can’t use special equipment to clear the debris. Everything is done by hand. But we believe that everything will work out,” said Volodymyr Zelensky.
The President also added that he had discussed the rescue operation of the people of Azovstal with UN Secretary General Antoni Gutterish.
He reminded that the second stage of the evacuation operation from Mariupol ended on May 4, 344 people can be rescued from the city and its environs.
“The people themselves left for Zaporizhia today. Our team is preparing to meet them. To meet as well as more than 150 people who are deported from Azovstal. They all support the necessary assistance. They all hold the most caring attitude from our state.” – said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
He thanked all those involved in the evacuation operation – Irina Vereshchuk, Andriy Yermak, David Arahamiya, UN representatives, the International Committee of the Red Cross – thanks to whom they reached an agreement and provided peace and corridors for the people.
