Andritz will rebuild the bleaching plant at Stora Enso’s mill in Skutskär in Sweden
Andritz has received an order from Great Enso to rebuild bleacher №4 at its Skutskär mill in Sweden. Start-up is planned for the second quarter of 2023.
The investment in new bleaching technology will increase the mill’s capacity and support Stora Enso’s ambitious climate goals. In addition, it will improve operational performance, improve the overall efficiency of mill maintenance and thereby reduce the plant’s carbon footprint.
Delivery takes place on an EPC basis and includes installation of two COMPACT PRESS washing presses, a new reactor, a sewage fiber filter and motorcycle equipment – all from Andritz.
The COMPACT PRESS washing press is characterized by its small space and high availability, including extremely good washing efficiency, which ensures high-quality production and the highest mass unit.
For increased durability and circularity, the mill will reuse Stora Enso Oulu’s bleaching reactor (which is also supplied by Andritz) and some of the mixers there.
Andritz was also selected to replace an existing washing filter in Fiberline 3 after the brown screen room with a used press from the Altri Celbi mill, previously owned by Stora Enso.
Skutskär’s mill has an annual production capacity of 540,000 tonnes and produces fluff, hardwood and softwood pulp.
Andritz Pulp & Paper provides sustainable technology, automation and service solutions for the production of all types of pulp, paper, cardboard and tissue.
