World Press Freedom Day. The consultation organizes an extended direct
On the occasion of the World Press Freedom Day, the Information Council dedicated the morning to a Board of Directors extended to all members. The meeting opens with the reading of the message from the Captains Regent. An intervention – that of the Heads of State – recommended especially for the high content and the reference to the role that “free and awaited information has in the formation of an aware public opinion”. From President Roberto Chiesa the invitation not to let your guard down because “if there is war with its propaganda and fake news, with colleagues who risk their lives to tell the facts, we we have the duty to defend the Freedom of the Press, a very high value that cannot be subjected to censorship or subjected to and which, on the contrary, reflects the degree of solidity of democracy in each country ”. Even the Information Authority through a video message from the President made the voice of him: “Freedom of the Press – said Francesco Bongarrà- is a defense of Democracy and Freedom. And from a country with ancient traditions of Democracy and Freedom such as the Republic of San Marino, inputs and ideas on this issue can and must start too “. The intervention was then closed by ensuring the support of the Authority for an initiative that goes in the sense described. A summary of the morning thanks to the whole Board of Directors for the commitment with the continues to organize training courses in collaboration with the Order of Journalists, always much appreciated by colleagues in the district. Also referred to the controversy between a delegation of the Board and the Secretary of State for Information Teodoro Lonfernini to submit some observations to the text of the law in the process of being approved. The ideas provided by the Council were considered by the Secretary to be worthy of reflection and deepening.
