VENICE – The crucible, that is the container in which glass and color are melted at over 1300 ° C to give life to the mosaics in Venetian enamels and gold of Orsoni Venice 1888that embellish the architectural masterpieces of the whole world, becomes the protagonist at the Venice Pavilion in 59th International Exhibition of the Biennale d’Arte.
Nine crucibles were, in fact, used to contain what in the Roman Empire was of wisdom, glory and peace, thelaureland which was chosen by the curator of the Pavilion, Giovanna Zabotticome “symbol par excellence of metamorphosis “.
And the works exhibited by Orsoni are also inspired by the metamorphosis, whose production of the mosaic is intertwined with the innovative strength of Trend groupalways following the noblest and most ancient Roman and Byzantine art.
The connection between human beings and nature, attention to the environment, the reuse of raw materials, are the three pillars that summarize the characteristics of these objects of art and design, aligning them with the fixed points of the Biennale.
If Venice is working to become “World Capital of Sustainability”placing the human being at the center in its relationship with the environment, the Group is also strongly oriented towards respect for the ecosystem, using up to 78% of post-consumer recycled materials for the production of its mosaics, employing practices that reduce minimum waste of raw materials and the introduction of pollutants into the environment.
“The mission on which the Venice Pavilion is based, since its foundation in 1932, is to give space to the artisan reality of Venice, so for us it was extraordinarily natural that Alloro linked to the historic Fornace Orsoni. – says the curator Giovanna Zabotti – I imagined from the first moment the crucibles, whose very name refers to ancestral concepts, as cradles of our trees, a symbol, themselves, of metamorphosis, of change and of new life. The collaboration with Fornace Orsoni born over the years and conveyed in the splendid works of this exhibition, are the symbol of that kind of synergy that has made our city unique over the centuries “.
“The values embodied by the crucible are fully married with the themes of the exhibition project of the Venice Pavilion – explains Giuseppe Fano, Trend Group President -. The metamorphosis, expressed in the evolution from a working tool to a unique work of art, emblem of the excellence of know-how to keep and handed down in Orsoni for almost a century and a half. The relationship between man and nature, expressed in its dimension of environmental sustainability which in the crucible takes the form of the reuse of waste glass to give life to new materials: an approach that reflects the philosophy of our Group, which has always been based on respect and protection. of the precious resources of our planet, a theme that is now very central even in artistic expressions. The crucible expresses our determined commitment to merge the constant dialectic with the culture of the territories into artefacts, thus embodying the very meaning of our work: extreme synthesis of the needs of our stakeholders, material inclusion of diversity and becoming. We thank the curator Giovanna Zabotti and the whole team. Thanks from Orsoni for the fundamental contribution to a collaboration that is particularly significant for us in the prestigious setting of the Biennale Arte 2022 “.
