Sweden’s Medicover acquires Romania’s Laurus Medical
BUCHAREST (Romania), May 3 (SeeNews) – The Swedish healthcare chain Medicover said it acquired Romania’s Laurus Medical as part of a € 16 million deal ($ 16.8 million) that also included the Polish clinics Allenrot.
Medicover did not disclose the individual value of its acquisition of Laurus Medical.

The deal is subject to approvals of merger control, it is said in a press release on Monday.
In January, Medicover announced the acquisition of a majority stake in Romania’s Mediplus Clinic chain for an undisclosed amount.
The company said in July 2021 that it would invest 20 million euros in a hospital in Bucharest.
Laurus Medical is a chain of ten clinics in Romania. The network covers many medical specializations.
According to the Ministry of Finance, Laurus Medical recorded 2.7 million lei (575,700 USD / 547,350 euros) in profit on a turnover of 26.7 million lei in 2020.
Medicover Group is a NASDAQ Sweden-listed international chain of private healthcare clinics. The company operates clinics in Europe and India and has over 38,000 employees. Medicover recorded EUR 106.6 million in profit and EUR 1.377 billion in revenue in 2020.
