Pascal Amoyel this May 4 at the Opéra Grand Avignon with “In Search of Beethoven”
The resemblance is disturbing between Beethoven and Pascal Amoyel! And today’s pianist, dizzying, likes to share his favourites, bring music to life through composers, by putting into notes, voice, stage, comedy, thrilling lives.
Brilliant international artist, Victoire de la musique in 2005 in the category “Instrumental soloist revelation”, we have already heard him with happiness at the Festival d’Avignon, often at the Théâtre du Balcon of which he is a faithful, and where the Covid an impediment to perform in November 2021 with another show. He has also been heard in duo with his life and stage company, cellist Emmanuelle Bertrand. An audience from all walks of life applauded Pascal Amoyel, to sold-out crowds, in The Pianist with 50 Fingers -around the legendary Georges Cziffra, who had noticed him at the age of 13-, then in The Day I Met Franz Listzand, from encounter to encounter, he is enthralling as Beethoven.
In 2020, on the occasion of the 250and anniversary of the birth of the most performed composer in the world, Pascal Amoyel has designed this show for all audiences where, slipping into the skin of his illustrious predecessor, he deciphers the 32 Sonatas : true diary of one who, still young, realizes that he is becoming deaf and who, from the tragedy of his life, will bring out the light.
