Drug and alcohol drivers stopped in Flachgau

On Monday, during routine traffic checks in Flachgau, the police pulled some drug and alcohol drivers out of traffic. Some drivers were also stopped in Lungau at the weekend.
On Monday morning, a civil patrol by the Salzburg State Traffic Department in the local area of Eugendorf (Flachgau) subjected a 26-year-old car driver to a routine traffic check. Since the alcohol test was negative, but the driver showed various symptoms of a clear one, a drug test was carried out on him.
This was positive for cannabis. The driver also admitted, after a brief denial, that he used marijuana on the night from Saturday to Sunday. During the clinical examination by the medical officer, the unfitness to drive was certified. The driver’s license was provisionally taken away and further driving was prohibited.
1.7 per thousand: fallen over with a moped
In the municipality of Neumarkt am Wallersee (Flachgau), on Monday evening police officers monitored a moped driver who had previously fallen over with his vehicle in the parking lot of a grocery store and caused a larger pool of petrol. The fuel leak had to be tied up by the Neumarkt volunteer fire brigade. The 36-year-old local had his driver’s license temporarily taken away due to his alcohol level of 1.72 per thousand
22-year-old with addictive substance impairment on the way
At midnight on Monday, police officers in Hof near Salzburg (Flachgau) also found symptoms of drug impairment in a 22-year-old from Flachgau. The doctor who was consulted determined that the local was unfit to drive. He was forbidden to continue driving and his driver’s license was provisionally taken on the spot.
Several alcohol drivers also stopped in Lungau
As early as April 30th, several violations were found during priority checks in the district of Tamsweg (Lungau). A 22-year-old car driver from the Murau district exceeded the 80 km/h limit that applied there on the B96 in the Tamsweg municipal area by 56 km/h and also drove over a restricted line on the winding route.
The man WILL be reported and face a license revocation process. A 20-year-old from Lungau with a blood alcohol content of 0.8 and a 31-year-old from Tamsweg with a blood alcohol content of 1.28 had to give up their driving licenses during alcohol tests. A 57-year-old from Lungau was measured at 0.62 per mille and is reported under the driver’s license law.
