Slovenian NLB completes integration of Serbian lender Komercijalna
LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), 3 May (SeeNews) – Nova Ljubljanska banka (NLB) [LJE:NLBR] concluded the integration process of Belgrade’s Komercijalna Banka [BEL:KMBN]he said.
After obtaining all regulatory permits and registering the merger with the Business Registers Agency, the process of merging Komercijalna banka and NLB was successfully completed and the Serbian bank has been operating under the new name NLB Komercijalna banka since 30 April 2022. .

Based on the merger, NLB Komercijalna banka is its universal legal successor to Komercijalna banka, NLB announced.
“Banks in the NLB Group will successfully grow and organically increase market shares, but we are closely monitoring developments in the domestic region, South-Eastern Europe, and we will not avoid analyzing and considering potential value-added opportunities for M&A. or portfolios in any of our existing, as well as other markets in the region, and thus becomes a true regional champion, “said the President of the Management Board of NLB Blaž Brodnjak.
On 30 December 2020, the NLB completed the purchase of an 83.23% ordinary stake in Komercijalna Banka for EUR 394.7 million (USD 414.7 million) and thus became the third largest banking group in Serbia. In April 2021, NLB raised its stake in Komercijalna banka to 88 percent after the purchase offer was completed.
