Several hundred Caen University Hospital staff on strike denounce their working conditions
Strong mobilization of hospital agents from the CHU de Caen this Monday, May 2, 2022. About 300 of them gathered in the level 1 hall then in front of the main entrance to the hospital establishment, between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. They thus responded to the strike call launched by the inter-union CFDT, CFTC, CGT, FO, Unsa and Sud to denounce “worsening working conditions”.
“Exhausted” staff
The staff interviewed say they are in the majority “exhausted” and “recalled” constantly on their day off to respond to the recurring problem of a lack of staff, in particular due to broadcasts following the health crisis. To the extent that “the management tells us that it will be possible to take only 15 consecutive days of vacation next summer instead of 21”, plague Jean-Régis Pannier, secretary of the CFTC section at the Caen University Hospital, also departmental president of Social Health.
The unions are sounding the alarm in the face of a situation “never known” in the past. A delegation of staff representatives was to be received at 2 p.m. by the management of the CHU.
Two months ago, the emergency department agents had already been part of their fed up.
