This is stated by the Unified trade union centerexplaining in a note that the Festival of May 1st at the Ausa di Dogana Park it was “a great return to conviviality and the desire to be together to celebrate Labor Day after two years of interruption due to the pandemic, which fills CSU with satisfaction”.
“The turnout at the evening of Saturday 30 April, which preceded the traditional party, was truly remarkable: at least over 600 young people filled the palatenda and the adjacent spaces for the music and gastronomy program organized by ‘Carretta & Friend’s’ – underlines Csu -. The leading DJs alternated throughout the evening with a musical lineup that made the young people dance and entertained, while the food stands worked at full speed. It has been a great pleasure to see this gathering of young people who had fun in this great party, promoted by the unitary trade union center as part of the events linked to 1 May, which marked the return to normal conditions “.
And again: “Then came the turn of the traditional celebration of May 1st, with several notes by people who filled the palatenda, this year even bigger than previous editions, in an afternoon enlivened by the performance of the Nuova Romagna Folk, on whose notes many have ventured into a rich program of dances, for couples and groups. The usual food stand managed directly by CSU staff distributed wraps and various dishes to crowded the large tables of the tent “.
The flags of peace, which together with those of the Ukrainian Confederation of Labor and the Democratic Confederation of San Marino workers adorned the palatenda, “wanted that at the center of the party there is the request to cease fire in the war in order to put an end to this absurd bloody conflict, to affirm that recourse to arms must never be the tool and to resolve disputes “.
In this regard, the Secretary of the San Marino Confederation of Labor, Enzo Merlini: “This May 1st takes place in the aftermath of an absurd and unmotivated war in Europe. San Marino has done its part in welcoming refugees, indeed more than it could; in fact, even compared to other countries we have significant numbers “.
On the employment front, Merlini highlighted: “We have recorded a significant increase in employment, thanks in particular to the manufacturing sector: this increase mainly concerns men, but female employment has also grown significantly. We hope that this is the prelude to a 2022 that, after May 1st, will launch new messages of positivity ”.
The Secretary of the Democratic Confederation of San Marino workers, Gianluca Montanariinstead he underlined on May 1st: “Finally after two years we have returned to the value of celebrating the feast of May 1st: a moment of encounter between generations and a day of work and reflection on the issues of the world of work”.
And after the recent signing of the Industry contract, Montanari once again emphasized the need to open the season of contract renewals for all workers: “Above all, starting – he stressed – from those sectors where the contract has been stopped for ten years”.
The unitary trade union center thanks all the workers, pensioners, families and also the many young people who, “with their participation, have responded to the call to celebrate this first May in the name of peace and solidarity; a day together that unites workers from all over the world in remembering that work, rights and the welfare state are the basis of a cohesive and inclusive society, which values and empowers all generations “.
