Taiji enthusiasts to practice around Malta and Gozo to mark World Taiji Day
The first Taiji Relay Flash Mob is being held on April 30 as part of World Taiji Day.
Taiji practitioners (also known as Tai Chi) will travel on a traditional Maltese bus and practice at some of Malta’s most famous historical sites and tourist attractions: starting at 9am at Shack Gardens Up in Valletta, followed by Mdina City Gate at 10am. At 11.20am, participants will walk to Qim Temple and Popeye Village at 12.50pm. Gozitan practitioners can join in the celebrations at the Citadel at 3pm.
Everyone, whether practicing Taiji or not, is welcome to explore a variety of Taiji styles such as Taiji Sword, Saber Taiji, Fan Taiji, Quan Taiji and Baduanjin, among others.
Participants will learn the concepts and philosophy of Taiji, practice the most famous positions and relax while appreciating the beauty around them. Taiji promotes a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
Participants are invited to become Taiji ambassadors by sharing photos and videos they take during the event on social media.
After the event, a filming team will make a short video, which will be shared by all organizers and participants, and used for media promotion.
Taiji World Day has been celebrated since 1999 on the last Saturday in April. The China Cultural Center in Malta has been actively promoting Taiji since 2007, has conducted training courses, organized World Taiji Day celebrations, and strengthened cooperation and exchanges with institutions. existing local Taiji.
