Emirates News Agency – BTA joins MINDS International, an association of 22 leading news agencies

HELSINKI, April 28, 2022 (WAM) – The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) was accepted as a member of MINDS International (Mobile Information and News Data Services) on Thursday. It is an organization uniting 22 leading news agencies from around the world. In the area of mobile information services to become the 23rd member. The decision to join BTA as a member was unanimously approved by the Helsinki General Assembly at the 32nd Conference of the Association.
BTA CEO Kiril Valchev compared MINDS International to the G20, the organization of the world’s most advanced economies. Among the members are leading news agencies “from the United States and Canada to Japan and Australia via the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, Germany and Switzerland,” in the words of Valchev. He added that BTA shares with its partners in the organization its experience in moving to subscription-based services and the use of new sources and data formats.
MINDS International was founded in 2004. BTA will become the 23rd member, including: Anadolu Agency, Australian Associated Press, Agence France-Presse, Athens-Macedonian News Agency, Algemeen Nederlands Persbureau, Agenzia Nazionale Stampa Associata, Associated Press, Austria Presse Agentur, Belgian Agence de Presse Persbureau, Canadian Press, Czech Chancellor, Deutsche Presse-Agentur, Agencia EFE, Kyodo News, Lusa, Norsk Telegrambyra, Polska Agencja Prasowa, Reuters, Ritzaus Bureau and Tkuva Tietokuvoimisto Schweizerische Telegrambyra.
