Alerted by a member of the family who was worried about being without news, the Spanish police discovered Serguey Protosenya hanged in the garden of the villa. Inside lay his wife, Natalia, and their 18-year-old daughter, stabbed to death.
The man divided his time between Spain, Cyprus and France, where he resided regularly. He had also educated his children at the prestigious private high school Grand Lebrun in Bordeaux. “We can only be sorry for this sordid tragedy. The important thing will be to accompany the students as calmly as possible from the start of the school year, ”reacted Jean-Marc Kuznir, the director of the establishment where the eldest son of the family had also completed a preparation.
Aged 55, Serguey Protosenya was the former vice-president of the second Russian gas company (behind Gazprom) Novatek. He still sits on the board of directors. This civil engineer had previously been financial director of the Russian oil company Tarkosaleneftega. His fortune was estimated at 400 million euros.
According to local media, the police would not exclude the thesis of a family drama. “Unfortunately, speculation has emerged in the media on this subject, but we are convinced that these speculations have nothing to do with reality”, however reacted his former employer in a press release.

Or even Alexander Tyulyakov, deputy director of the Gazprom treasury found in Saint Petersburg on the 25th.
