Post a story on Instagram, take a selfie. Today, these modes of communication are part of our daily lives. With My storythe actress, author and director Céline Ohrel offers us an artistic performance on practices that have become commonplace but which, sometimes, we propose.
Today, with social networks, “anyone can relate”, explains Céline Ohrel. The young woman, who studied philosophy in Rennes and Poland, wonders about the place of technology in our lives. It challenges us on our ability to control what we publish. “What do we do with the tool and how do we use it?”, asks the actress. On stage, Céline Ohrel stages her body to convey her messages and her emotions. A way of reaffirming the importance of the “chair and bone” game in the face of virtual relationships on the internet.
In My story, the actress also talks about her experience. “It’s about me. Born in the 80s, I knew a world without the internet then with the internet. At 20, I was an anti-capitalist and anarchist. Today, I am an artist who takes hold of all the networks social to communicate”, recognizes the young woman. “What would this 20 year old girl think of me today?” asks Céline Ohrel who, at 38, is addicted to technology, like a large part of the population. “It was important for me to put myself in the center” of this story she finished.
My storytext, direction and acting by Céline Ohrel – To discover at the Comédie de Caen, 1 Square du Théâtre in Hérouville-Saint-Clair, until April 30, 2022.
