Ukraine expects help from the world to return ZNPP under its control
Ukraine expects the world community, including the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), to help ensure the return of Ukrainian control over the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant.
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi decided on this during a joint meeting briefing with the General Director of MAGAFallel Mariano Grossi in Kyiv, Ukrinform correspondent reports.
Thus, the President of Ukraine thought that during the meeting with the IAEA chief he discussed a number of state issues of nuclear safety, which arose as a result of nuclear blackmail, to which the Russian Federation exercised power during the war against Ukraine.
“Our main initiative is the introduction of peacekeepers to ensure the safety of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. In any case, this station cannot be in front of Rosatom’s control of the world. Green.
He was also asked about Russia’s disproportionate representation in the IAEA. In this context, the President expressed his conviction that Ukraine has the right to be represented among the governing agencies.
He also added that the subject of discussion was the Russian Federation’s compensation for all damage caused to Ukrainian nuclear facilities.
As Ukrinform reports, IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi paid a visit to Kyiv on April 6.
ZNPP and Energodar have been captured by Russian troops since March 4. In addition to the Russian military, Rosatom representatives have been illegally staying at the Zaporizhzhya NPP site for a long time.
