The case started on Saturday April 23, in the early morning. Around 7 a.m., two railway security officers were intrigued by the presence of two suitcases that appeared to be abandoned in a waiting room at the station. A person nearby comes forward and tells them that the owner has just left the premises. A security procedure is then triggered for “suspicious luggage”.

A dog specializing in the search for explosives is requested but, in the meantime, the command center of the video surveillance indicates to the agents that the owner of the suitcases is on the platform of the station. Invited to open them, the latter complies and inside the suitcases, about twenty sachets of cannabis herb are discovered. Arrested by the police of the center division, the young Belgian explains arriving by bus from Madrid where a stranger had instructed him to deliver them to Bordeaux.
The next day, Sunday, around 7:30 a.m., a team of border police went to the arrival of buses from Spain in the Belcier district and saw a young woman approaching a man and kissing her. She travels with two suitcases. The police intervene and demand to see the contents. Inside, there are about twenty kilos of grass packaged in heat-sealed bags.
