THE Eurovision Song Contest is just around the corner. From the 10th of May we will get together again with family and friends to watch the first semi-final of Eurovision 2022 that will be streamed live on RTP1. The second semi-final and the grand final follow on May 12 and 14, respectively.

It is true that Eurovision is not as celebrated in Portugal as it is in European countries, however, since our victory in 2017 with “Amar Pelos Dois” there is a greater desire from the public to know the right.

A country like ours worships fado, but it has also given space to pimba music, the romantic style and even revolutionary acts, in order to conquer a prominent place in Eurovision. It wasn’t always enough, but what we’ve done at Eurovision deserves applause. Portugal is one of the few countries that remains authentic, that knows how to use the festival to know the identity of a nation.
