The Helsinki Metropolitan Area offers 125 guided nature tours for residents
Excursions are free
After many months of snow, rain and frost, spring is finally at hand. As the sun shines and the flowers bloom, everyone wants to step out and be in nature again. Knowing this, the metropolitan area has now published its own 2022 Nature Trip Calendar.
According to the press release, the calendar includes 125 guided tours nature sites in Helsinki, Vantaa, Espoo and Kauniainen. More information about the excursions can be picked up from their 2022 calendar city libraries and customer service points at the turn of April-May. Alternatively, they can also view the calendar online through their municipality’s website.
The benefits of being in nature
Since the outbreak of the pandemic, many have quickly learned that there are many benefits to being in nature. More specifically, it has the power to soothe the stressed and anxious mind while taking care of the physical well-being of the body.
In order to make nature trips accessible and attractive to everyone, the Helsinki Metropolitan Area offers excursions free of charge. Nevertheless, there are some exceptions, as the ferry trip must be paid for if the trip includes one. Similarly, although there is usually no need to register before the tour, some excursions require pre-registration.
Once again, assuring residents that they are all welcome for nature walks in the area, the Helsinki Metropolitan Area emphasizes that no special fitness is required of the participants, as normal fitness is sufficient for all trips. As guided tours attract families, the organizers have also created accessible paths to suit the needs of children.
The 2022 nature tour calendar has many guided tours, but it also has numerous self-guided tours where residents can enjoy the comfort and peace of nature on their own.
