Presentation of the Leonardo-UniGe Cybersecurity Scholarship 2021/22 Program
«The topic of cybersecurity today is very topical as, unfortunately, the tragic events in Ukraine prove. The University of Genoa is a center of excellence on this topic », declares the Rector Federico Delfino. «In recent years, in fact, the skills in this field have been consolidated and a lot has been invested in both research and teaching. An example of this is the establishment, in 2020, of the Security, Risk and Freedom Center which offers a multidisciplinary vision on these issues that combines the three pillars of the University, research and third mission. From the collaboration with Leonardo, a major international player in this field, great benefits derive for our students, who have the opportunity to try their hand, already during the years of university studies, in solving practical problems and critical cases, thus greatly enriching their skills and increasing their attractiveness on the labor market. “
«Leonardo is strongly committed to spreading a solid culture of safety at the national, local and supranational level, both among sector operators and among young people. With initiatives such as the Scholarship Program designed with the University of Genoa and the Cyber & Security Academy, inaugurated at the beginning of April in Torre Fiumara, the city is central to this strategy “, comments Tommaso Profeta, Managing Director of the Cyber Division & Security Solutions by Leonardo. «The Scholarship Program also reflects Leonardo’s role as an engine of innovation and development for the territory. One of the winners of the first edition is already joining Leonardo and we are constantly looking for new talents to strengthen our IT security team. “
