Fatih Madrasa, which is a science and application center in Aya, which was a science and application center under the leadership of scientist Ali Kuşçu in Istanbul about six centuries ago, is in service to serve with a mission in line with its original purpose. Hagia Sophia Fatih Madrasa is one of the first organizations to grow in Istanbul after Fatih Sultan Mehmet conquered Istanbul. Fatih Sultan Mehmet invited Ali Kuşçu, one of the most famous scholars of the period, from Tabriz to Istanbul to work on the beginning of Istanbul, since it is the Islamic center of science and culture. Kuşçu, who made a name for himself in the service of astronomy and mathematics books, became the pioneer of mathematics in Istanbul, where he will be 70 years old, for 4 years.
As the chief professor of Kuşçu with 200 gold coins, it became the center of Islamic science for years. Ali Kuşçu had calculated the latitude and longitude of Istanbul from the beginning by taking this madrasah as the center.
LOCATION OF ISTANBUL
Hagia Sophia Fatih Madrasa, after serving as education until the 1924 education date, will come with a difference. The madrasah was started to be built again in 2017, which was destroyed in 1936 to become dilapidated. Centuries old, it is reopened for use within the scientific and cultural community of Sultan Mehmet University in history.

With the restoration of the General Directorate of Foundations, Hagia Sophia Fatih Madrasa will again carry out activities in line with its former purpose.
Foundation universities of Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror in the center, which will serve in the future of science and culture. According to the education document, ‘Cedvel-i Medâris-i Âsitâne’ hosted 198 students and was the most crowded educational institution in Istanbul. The historical madrasa was later built by Şeyhülislam Hayri Efendi in 1914. As a process of reform in the Ottoman education system, madrasas would provide education in the form of four books each.

Apart from the historical madrasa; There are Hagia Sophia Research Center, Fatih Sultan Mehmet and Period Research Center, Islamic Arts Application and Research Center, Islamic Law Research Center, Manuscripts Application and Research Center, Foundation Research Center, Visual Communication and Design Application and Research Center.
