From Bergamo to San Marino, to ensure the decorum and cleanliness of the walls of the historic center of the Republic.
A team of volunteers from the Orobicambiente association, which has been protecting and cleaning the Venetian Walls from infesting plants since 2018, completed an exercise yesterday (Sunday 24 April) in the area of the former skating rink in the historic center of San Marino.
“The initiative joins the project wanted by the secretariat of state for the territory and the environment in collaboration with the ASLP and the Cultural Institutes for the restoration, conservation and protection of the walls of the historic center of the Republic – he explained Stefano Canti, Secretary of State for the Territory and the Environment -. I hope this is the beginning of a twinning with Bergamo to continue a fruitful collaboration, with the hope of participating in the maintenance of the Unesco heritage walls also in our area ».
Despite the struggle, also in this case the volunteers of Orobicambiente have taken up ropes, ttones and harnesses and have lowered themselves along the ramparts of the walls, cleaning from weeds those points and those areas that, otherwise, reach flies that can be reached.
