FC Vaduz receives the license for the 2022/23 season – Liechtenstein
VADUZ – The licensing commission has granted all 20 current clubs in the Swiss Football League (SFL), including FC Vaduz, the right to play for the coming season. In the first instance, the committee refused the license for the second-highest league to the four applicants from the Promotion League.
As the first authority in the licensing process for the 2022/23 season, the SFL License Commission drew up the dossiers of 24 license applicants: 20 clubs from the SFL and 4 aspiring promoters from the Promotion League. She examines the legal, infrastructural, sporting, administrative, financial and security-specific criteria of the extensive dossiers.
After the requirements had been applied to the critical criteria in the particularly difficult framework conditions caused by the Covid pandemic, the commission again examined the dossiers almost in their entirety this year. Only in the area of infrastructure was there a reduced audit due to the limited investment opportunities for clubs and municipalities.
After completing the extensive work, the license commission granted the 20 current SFL clubs the required license for the 2022/23 season in the first instance.
No club from the Promotion League will receive the license
A different picture emerges from the candidates for promotion from the Promotion League to the dieci Challenge League. None of the promotion aspirants AC Bellinzona, FC Breitenrain, FC Chiasso and FC Stade Nyonnais received the required license in the first instance. The clubs now have the opportunity to improve their dossiers in the procedure before the appeals authority for licenses. The decisions of the second instance will be communicated on May 20, 2022.
