Red Bull Salzburg celebrate nineteen championship titles in a row
Despite a major upheaval last summer, Red Bull Salzburg were crowned champions in the Bundesliga four rounds before the end of the season. Matthias Jaissle formed an ambitious team from a very young team that caused a sensation not only in Austria.

Points record in the regular round and only one defeat. Red Bull Salzburg once again won the Bundesliga championship in the most sovereign way and have been crowned in the Austrian Oberhaus for the ninth time in a row. After the 5-0 home win against Wiener Austria four rounds before the end, the Mozartstadt-based team can no longer be pushed off the top of the table and are already celebrating their 13th championship since Red Bull came on board. “The important thing is that we won today and showed we have what we can do. We’re very proud of the team’s performance throughout the season and of each individual here,” said Noah Oka, celebrating the recent title win.

Most wins in a Bundesliga season
Salzburg laid the foundation for defending their title at the beginning of the season, when they won the first ten league games under Matthias Jaissle and clearly led the table with a goal difference of 26:5, ten points ahead of their nearest rival, Sturm Graz. In the regular season, they set a new record with 55 points collected in 22 rounds and have only had to admit defeat once so far this season.
“That has distinguished us throughout the season, that we always went into the games well from the head. We have never let up and have shown really good performances despite the upheaval in the summer. Big praise to everyone,” summarizes captain Andreas Ulmer, who was not spared one or the other beer shower, the successful season of the Salzburgers together. Because they also made it into the final of the ÖFB Cup and qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history.
Even after the division of the league, there was no vulnerability in the city of Mozart, they won all the first six games in the play-off and sent a clear signal that this year again the young, wild team of the series champions, with the average age of the squad of 22.6 years, the youngest of all teams. “We enjoyed the whole day. Being able to celebrate in front of such a crowd is amazing. It’s just great. Winning a title is never easy, now we want to enjoy it. We made it possible through work and are very confident started and can look back on a great season,” says defender Rasmus Kristensen.
Ulmer with twelfth championship title
With Karim Adeyemi, Luka Sucic, Nicolas Seiwald, Oumar Solet, Mohamed Camara, Benjamin Sesko or the young Danish youth team player Maurits Kjaergaard, some youngsters under the supervision of Coach Jaissle have made an impressive development and not only convinced in the national league, but also showed international stage that you can probably keep up with top European teams. “The boys did very well this season. They were always motivated, have a lot of talent and are always ready to fight,” says Kristensen, praising his younger colleagues.
Matthias Jaissle, who only celebrated his 34th birthday on April 5, was crowned the youngest champion coach in Bundesliga history by winning the title. “That’s a nice side note, but this is a title for the club, for the staff, fans and the players who have written incredibly all year. Jaissle benefits from his young age when partying with his pros. “That’s definitely an advantage,” laughs the master coach.
But Salzburg is far from satisfied with winning the championship. Now the focus must be on the upcoming ÖFB Cup final against SV Ried in order to complete the season with a double win. “So we won’t celebrate too much today because we want to crown the season with the ÖFB Cup victory,” says a clearly beaming Andreas Ulmer, who has already celebrated his twelfth Bundesliga title with Salzburg.
