Red Bull Salzburg are on Bayern Munich’s footsteps and on Sunday were crowned Austrian champions for the ninth time in a row. The team of German coach Matthias Jaissle (34) won 5-0 (3-0) against Austria Vienna and with 45 points in the Bundesliga championship round they can no longer be intercepted.
“It is particularly impressive that Salzburg, despite the double burden of the European Cup, where they also achieved historic things by reaching the Champions League round of 16, have not weakened at any point in the championship. They are consistently at the top from the first to the last round Top of the table,” said Bundesliga CEO Christian Ebenbauer.
The goals for Salzburg were scored by Brenden Aaronson (2nd, 54th, penalty kick), German international Karim Adeyemi (18th), Luka Sucic (28th) and Mohamed Camara (85th, penalty kick). Marvin Martins saw the traffic light card for the guests (53rd).
Karim Adeyemi: Guarantee for the title
On Saturday, FC Bayern became champions for the tenth time in a row with a 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund. Overall, it was the 32nd title in the club’s history for the Munich team. There are now 16 titles for Salzburg.
