Future Gaißau-Hintersee: great silence in Krispl
The fact that the Gaißau mountain railways are once again on the brink of collapse has caused emotional discussions over the past week. On Sunday the community day was held in Krispl (Tennengau), which was planned independently of the ski lift discussion. There is a lively rush – many topics were discussed, concerning the community and since Easter the threatening end for the Gaißau-Hintersee ski circuit has also been part of it.
Big Silence: Who Ever Works Out?
The owner family, which has operated the lifts for the past two years, is expecting a concept so that, contrary to their announcement, the lifts will not be demolished after all. However, there was a lot of silence in Krispl on Sunday as to whether this concept already existed, what it could look like and, above all, who worked it out. Apparently it was agreed in Krispl to remain silent.
Mayor: “I don’t know anything”
The Krispler Mayor Andreas Ploner (ÖVP) emphasized on Sunday that efforts are being made to find solutions. However, he has no idea how far the talks have intensified. “And if I knew something, I shouldn’t say anything. However, I don’t know anything,” said Mayor Andreas Ploner (ÖVP).
Citizen: “No shops, no warehouse, everything closes”
Most people in the region agree that the ski area is important for the town and the surrounding communities. “For us it is inconceivable that this ski area should no longer exist,” said a Krisplerin. Martha Höllbacher said, “It’s sad, it’s such a beautiful ski area and the whole economy depends on it”.
“We no longer have shops, we no longer have a warehouse, who knows how long we’ll have a gas station and now it looks like the lift is gone too. The municipal council of Krispl and the surrounding communities must now become active,” demanded Krispler Baldur Eibl.
