8 out of 10 will provide more weapons
In a new poll conducted by Norstat, 82 percent of the population answer that they support Norway to provide more military equipment to Ukraine.
62 percent answer in the same survey that they believe that Norway has given too little military support to Ukraine in the past.
The survey was conducted on behalf of the Norwegian-Ukrainian Friends Association.
Jørn Sund-Henriksen of the Norwegian-Ukrainian Friends Association in the Storting and the government take on the marching order he perceives the Norwegian people have now given.
Propaganda allegations: Did not make contact
– The survey shows that there is enormous support for Ukraine among the Norwegian people. A large majority of voters in all the political parties now support Norway providing more military support. That the whole of Norway is now united in the demand for more weapons to Ukraine is an important signal to our politicians that help must now be stepped up, says Jørn Sund-Henriksen to Dagbladet.
Norway recently sent 100 Mistral anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine. The government has previously sent 4,000 anti-tank weapons to the country.
Huitfeldt: – Enormous change
Dagbladet has shown the figures to Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt (Labor). She says the government is making ongoing assessments of the aid provided to Ukraine, including arms support.
– Survived well torture
– This shows that it is a huge change, because if this had been done months ago, this number would probably have been different. It is largely on the ground that determines the outcome of the war, so it is something we consider continuously all the time. But do not publish it until the delivery has been made, it has been above Dagbladet.
As many as 51 percent of Huitfeldt’s Labor voters say they “completely agree” with the following statement, according to the Norstat survey:
– I believe the arms deliveries are fully legal within Norwegian and international law. Norway has changed its practice, while other countries have done so all the time. This is fully within the framework of international law, Huitfeldt adds.
«In recent months, Norway has sent military equipment to Ukraine. How much do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Norway should provide more military equipment to Ukraine?»

Red and MDG
Only 35 percent of SV voters in the survey say they “completely agree” that Norway must send more weapons to Ukraine. In comparison, 60 percent of Conservative voters answer the same.
It is the voters of the Red and MDGs who are least eager to send more weapons to Ukraine, the survey shows. In the beginning, 10 percent of voters say they “completely disagree” that Norway should send more military equipment. In comparison, this figure is 1 percent in the Labor Party.
59 percent of Liberal voters polled in the survey completely agree that Norway must send more weapons.

Melby: – Far from it
Liberal leader Guri Melby is among those who most, and most often, have requested that more Norwegian military equipment be sent to the war.
– I am not surprised that Norwegians have seen pictures from the cruelty of this war and lined up for Ukrainian refugees, are the only ones with us. Norway should support Ukraine with what they need, both financially and materially, she tells Dagbladet.
– The arms deliveries Norway has contributed have been good, but it is far from enough, she says.
– Ukrainians need weapons and money to buy weapons to defend their and Europe’s freedom. The Liberal Party will continue to give the government its full support to constantly support Ukraine with what they need to win this war, the Liberal Party leader concludes.
