Handball. NM1 : première place assurée pour Lanester, vainqueur à Bordeaux – Handball
N1M. Bordeaux-Lanester: 21-35
It was no longer in doubt, but it still had to be assured mathematically. By importing it to Bordeaux, at the last of the group, Lanester HB offers itself first place in the standings three days before the end of the season in NM1. A real performance that crowns an almost perfect season. With nine points ahead of HBC Nantes, Lanester opens a freewheeling end to the season. Saturday, they did the job in front of a Bordeaux team with appalling statistics, with a success for eighteen defeats.
A clash of extremes which turned out to be tight during an open start to the match, with two teams discovering each other and finding the fault in the opposing defense. A little game which nevertheless succeeded for the players of Mathieu Hurtaud, who took a small ascendancy in the score (7-8, 15 ‘). The Bordeaux resistance cracked at the end of the first period. Indeed, the Dragons collective was hurting over the minutes against Girondins who gave ground under the onslaught of a precise Lozano (11-16, 26 ‘).
Impeccable management
The visitors managed to take the lead after the first thirty minutes (12-17). A savings that galvanized the Bretons, who raised their voices as soon as they returned to the floor. If the first minutes did not bring any change to the scoreboard (14-19, 36 ‘), the Morbihan collective began to take the ascendancy. Suddenly, things are going too fast for the Bordelais who are overwhelmed and in great difficulty. Logically, the scoreboard reflected this domination (16-25, 47’). A crippling gap for the locals who gave ground and let the Bretons unfold their game during the last one-way minutes. Lanester Handball won brilliantly to claim the title in this pool.
