Curious goal celebration: Cologne star Anthony Modeste gives away his own coffee to fans
No taking off your jersey, no somersault, no excessive run over half the court: Anthony Modeste drew attention to himself with a very special goal celebration on Saturday afternoon. Instead of being happy about his opening goal just before half-time against Arminia Bielefeld with his teammates from 1. FC Köln, he grabbed a bag behind the goal after the 2-1 win and rummaged around in a pack of his own coffee brand. The Modeste roast is available from Rewe, the main sponsor of the Cologne company. After the hit, Modeste gave the bag with which he cheered to a fan.

Den Modeste coffee has only been available since around the turn of the year. “The best green coffee varieties from all over the world are selected by our coffee experts and gently roasted in small quantities,” says the website of the coffee, which comes 70 percent from Brazil and 30 percent from India.
According to the manufacturer, the coffee is roasted directly in Cologne, which makes it sustainable. The coffee gift also goes well with the fact that the sponsor did without his jersey lettering against Bielefeld and instead printed the slogan “Live sustainably” on the jerseys of the Cologne pros.
