200 fanatical Austria Salzburg fans expected in Dornbirn – Dornbirn
Game of the year for SC Admira Dornbirn against the cult club from the city of Mozart.
“It will be an absolute highlight in our long club history. We are well prepared and armed. The joy is huge before the kick-off and it will certainly remain an unforgettable experience, even outside of amateur sport,” says SC Admira Dornbirn long-term president Gerhard Ritter (65). For the 65-year-old former professional footballer, FC Tirol’s appearance in the ÖFB Cup against Admira Dornbirn around three years ago was even more important. Admira Dornbirn’s home premiere brings the duel with the Austrian cult club SV Austria Salzburg today (4 p.m.) at the Rohrbach sports facility in Dornbirn. Around two hundred supporters from the city of Mozart are expected in Dornbirn. In a separate fan sector and separate entrance to the sports facility, the Austria Salzburg fans should find the best conditions to actively support their team. Before the match and long after, they will certainly create an unprecedented mega atmosphere in Dornbirn. 25 stewards, some of them from the SC Admira Dornbirn club, are unlikely to cause any special incidents among the fanatical battle loafers. A separate food and drink stand will be available for Salzburg fans. “We haven’t had any trouble with our loyal fans for four years. For more than two seasons we don’t need an executive escort in our own stadium. Our supporters are unique in Austria and at national level they are among the best,” says SV Austria Salzburg chairman Claus Salzmann. On May 6, 2017, Austria Salzburg last played an away game in Vorarlberg on the Birkenwiese in Dornbirn above the Arlberg. Athletic? Admira Dornbirn and Austria Salzburg are still waiting for their first win after two matchdays in the Westliga. “The pressure is on the opponent. They have a lot of quality. My boys have to play boldly and not show any respect or fear,” says Admira Dornbirn coach Herwig Klocker. With August Rusch, Lukas Bertignoll and Thomas Griesebner, Admira Dornbirn can once again fall back on a strong trio. Benedikt Böhler, Martin Brunold and Alexander Huber are not available due to injuries. Austria Salzburg have twice achieved a 1-1 draw.
