Slovenian hotels and tourist resorts are almost occupied for the Easter holidays and the first of May
Slovenian hotel premises are almost entirely reserved for the Easter and working holidays. In the country, urban tourism is already strengthening after the cessation of many tourist activities due to the coronavirus pandemic, reports SchengenVisaInfo.com.
According to the Sava Group, the largest Slovenian provider of tourist accommodation, reservations have returned to the same level as in the year before the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, their capacities are reserved for up to 90 percent of the upcoming holidays, Easter and May Day.
Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Italy, Hungary and Serbia are the places where most of the guests spending their holidays in this country come from.
The company also hopes that air traffic with other countries further away from Slovenia will be re-established.
The Primorska coastal region is once again gaining foreign visitors after the lifting of restrictions on COVID-19, which previously accounted for 75 percent of the region’s tourism business.
The Easter holidays usually have more foreign guests, while most of the guests who book are Slovenes for the holidays.
A similar trend among Austrian, Italian and German guests is also marked by the Kranjska Gora ski center. About 75 percent of the capacity is already reserved. They are noticing a trend of increasing reservations at the last minute and expect an influx of Slovenian guests at the end of the coupons.
On the other hand, visitors from the Benelux countries are wary of reservations due to the war in Ukraine.
Representatives of Tourism Bled showed that they are also satisfied with the number of reservations, as they are almost entirely reserved.
The guests who visit Lake Bled the most are Croats, Italians, Hungarians and Germans.
Meanwhile, the resort on Lake Bohinj is not growing much and is occupied by only 60 percent of reserved capacity, while local tourism providers are waiting for the business to return to track.
Gregor Jamnik, president of the Slovenian Hotel Association and head of the Slon Hotel in Ljubljana, announced that urban tourism in Ljubljana and Maribor was one of the most affected areas during the pandemic, adding that some positive trends had been observed in recent weeks.
Elephant, on the other hand, recorded 80 percent of the capacity reserved for Easter and 50 percent for Labor Day.
“We are very happy that the covers are no longer full of Covid. Unfortunately, there is a war in Ukraine, but for now it is not affecting us as negatively as we feared, “ Jamnik pointed out this.
He stressed that he was pleased with the return of British and American guests, who had compensated for the loss of income due to the absence of Russians.
Although the season is going well, according to Jamnik, it is a worrying fact that suppliers are raising prices on a weekly basis.
