Adeyemi’s successor Fernando is said to cost six million euros
Red Bull Salzburg are preparing for the departure of striker Karim Adeyemi. Like transfer insiders Fabrizio Romano reported, the Mozart city-dwellers have already signed Brazilian Fernando from Shakhtar Donetsk as a replacement.
According to the expert, the deal is already on the home stretch. Fernando should therefore switch to Salzburg on July 1 and cost six million euros.
This would make Fernando the fifth most expensive bull of all time after Noah Okafor (11.2 million euros), Maximilian Wöber (10.5 million euros), Erling Haaland (8 million euros) and Joaquin Boghossian (6.9 million euros).
The 23-year-old Brazilian switched from Palmeiras to the transparent series champion in 2018 for a reported 5.5 million euros and was then loaned to Sporting Lisbon. In his homeland, Fernando’s style of play used to be recorded primarily with ManCity striker Gabriel Jesus.
This season, the flexible centre-forward has scored eight goals and two assists in 14 appearances, but has also missed out on some upsets.
Fernando, whose market value is estimated at three million euros, would have a contract with Shakhtar until 2024. The clause to bring players from the Ukrainian league temporarily expired on April 7, which is why a transfer would probably be due. However, there are no details about the height.
Adeyemi Poker: BVB agree with Salzburg
According to a media report, Borussia Dortmund and Salzburg have now been able to agree on a deal for Karim Adeyemi after several rounds of negotiations, which means that the basic amount for the youngster should be around 35 million euros.
In the case of several clauses and bonus payments, the two parties are probably still apart from the report, which is why the deal could still burst. Although Adeyemi prefers a move to BVB, he is probably also negotiating with other top international clubs.
