Immediately before the little break things went one after the other
“The ground was soft and soapy. So we couldn’t play what we had originally planned,” summed up Eugendorf practice manager Mario Haslauer, who witnessed a missed Kopleder penalty in the early stages (5th). Although the green-whites clawed a slight chance in the first round, the home team from Siezenheim also appeared dangerously in the last third. After Kloiber had given up due to muscular problems, the guests received an additional slap in the face shortly before the break when Hoppenthaler made it 1-0. “The ball flew through the penalty area like in a pinball machine,” Siezenheim supervisor Peter Urbanek was delighted that it ended up wriggling in the net. The Haslauer men responded immediately, because just a few moments later Oldie Suppan scored the 1-1 equalizer with a well-placed shot into the crease (43′). “It happened to us for the fourth time this season that we immediately conceded a goal. You almost have to be afraid that you’ll score a goal,” Urbanek said with gallows humor.
Eugendorf knew how to equalize the two-time Siezenheim leadership
The many high balls were a big topic in the Eugendorf cabin at the break. “We addressed that. Our plan was that in the second half we’d get back into the game.” But this second part of the game should start unfavorably for the guest elf. A guest throw flew into Gligoric’s feet, who left three or four opponents standing like slalom poles, served Mayer waiting in the backcourt – his shot into the long cross corner didn’t give Eugendorf keeper Kastner the slightest chance of defense – 2: 1 (57th) . As a result, the hosts closed, the Eugendorfer seek their salvation with advances on the wings. After a goal was not recognized due to an offside position and Kopleder failed in a one-on-one with home glove Leindecker, Ernemann plucked up courage from around 25 meters and scored to make it 2-2 (79th). In the final sequences, the guest eleven still found opportunities to win. “But we awarded some of them clumsily,” sighed Haslauer. Meanwhile, Urbanek could live with the point division: “Of course it’s bitter in the end, especially since we took the lead twice. But we’re happy to take the one point against league favorite Eugendorf.”
The best: Gligoric (ST), Leindecker (TW), Groiss (IV) or Pichler (LM), Ernemann (IV)
