All citizens entitled to vote have the opportunity to determine who should represent them in the upcoming electoral period in the Düsseldorf state parliament. In the 2022 NRW election, all residents of the state who are entitled to vote will be asked to cast two different votes. The first vote goes to a specific direct candidate from the respective constituency. Whoever can show the most first votes here secures a place as a member of parliament or as a member of the NRW parliament in Düsseldorf. The other members of Parliament are elected using the second votes – this is not about individuals, but about entire parties.
