Red Bull Salzburg opens a new training facility – football
FC Red Bull Salzburg is opening a new training location in the south of the state in cooperation with the Salzburg Football Association (SFV). The project is called “Next Soizburger”.
In Lend im Pinzgau, “the talents who live far in the south of Salzburg and therefore have no opportunity to complete this in Liefering, are given comprehensive football-specific training,” the club said in a broadcast.
The decision in favor of the Lend location was made because it is easy to reach regionally, SV Lend currently has no youth teams and the synergies with the current LAZ bases of the association could be used.
U9 program started
A U9 support program was launched in mid-April, and a new U10 team will be in action from the second half of 2022.
The aim is, among other things, to develop talent for entry into the U15 of the Red Bull Academy.
“Everyone should benefit”
Bernhard Seonbuchner, sporting director of the Red Bull Football Academy, explains: “The idea behind this project is that as many children as possible receive the best possible football education in the immediate vicinity of their home country. Everyone who is involved in football should then benefit from this: the children, the clubs in the region, the Salzburg Association and also professional football in Salzburg.”
Robert Tshaut, Sports Director of the SFV: “The ‘Next Soizburger’ project is a product of many years of good cooperation between the SFV and the Red Bull Football Academy in the field of talent promotion and a very good symbiosis between these two institutions, the best talents in the southern districts of our state through targeted training and load control and the implementation of the training priorities while playing.”
