President of Turismo de Portugal says that Ryanair in Madeira will diversify markets and bring new customer segments

The president of Turismo de Portugal, Luis Araújo, considers that with Ryanair’s operation in the Region – which started on March 29 – it is possible to “diversify markets, bring in new customer segments and make operations last over time”. ”.
Luís Araújo, who was also present this morning at Madeira airport, outside the scope of the visit of Ryanair’s CEO, Eddie Wilson, at a moment that marked the official opening of the Irish company’s base, argues that the Irish airline’s base in region is “extremely positive”.
“We are talking about new international routes and new connections with the continent. It is very positive and I am sure it will be a success”, he stressed.
To journalists, Luís Araújo, although as expectations of Turismo de Portugal for this year are “quite spread airports”, confident that this summer the nationals will be able to reach the levels of 2019.
“What we can already see again, very close to what was resolved in 2019, which was the best year ever, for all airports. So we are on a good path.”
