Lehel subway station: person falls onto the track
Yesterday afternoon a man fell onto the track area in the Lehel subway station.
The 50-year-old man stumbled on the platform and then fell on the track area of the underground line 4 going into town. The driver of the arriving train saw the fallen and brought his train to a standstill with an emergency brake. The heavy train collided easily with the man.
A fire protection assistant from the Munich Transport Company (MVG), who was on site, immediately contacted the casualty. It turns out that the man was responsive and had not been run over by the subway, since he only caught himself in the security area under the platform.
A fire brigade team crawled under the train to the casualty and placed him on a spineboard, which he used to pull him onto the open track area. The rescue service personnel took over the man on the platform and, after initial treatment, transported him to the emergency room of a Munich clinic.
An eyewitness and the driver were cared for by the emergency services until the intervention team arrived. Due to the deployment, there was an increase in local passenger transport on line U4.
