CAMERATA SALZBURG: New board
New board
04/14/22 The orchestra is called long ago Camerata Salzburgbut the sponsoring association still bears the name Camerata Academica of the Mozarteum Salzburg. A nice anachronism. Wolfgang Daurer was recently elected as the new President.
According to a press release, the auditor and passionate music lover has been a subscriber to the Camerata for over forty years. Wolfgang Daurer has been a member of the board as treasurer for a year. Elisabeth Hargassner is the new vice president, tax consultant Ingeborg Daurer and lawyer Erich Greger are the future cashier and secretary. The director of the Wiener Konzerthausgesellschaft Matthias Naske – he was Camerata manager himself back in the days of Sándor Végh – is still an assessor on the new board. The two representatives of the orchestra, Matthias Bäcker (solo oboe) and Firmian Lermer (solo viola), remain in office.
“Our goal is to create permissible framework conditions, both financial and variable, for the Camerata Salzburg that correspond to the orchestra’s quality and radiance,” says the new President Wolfgang Daurer. “This includes a development of the fees for the orchestra members that is customary in the market and a better rehearsal room situation.” This is the only way for the Freelance Orchestra to compete internationally with the best chamber orchestras in the long term.
The previous President Bernd Gaubinger and Vice President Günther Ramusch did not stand for election. The association Camerata Academica of the Mozarteum Salzburg is a non-profit association that manages itself to over eighty percent from economic proceeds, private funds and sponsors. (Camera)
